Chapter 15

Fifteen- Chris

It was about one in the morning when I heard Allyson singing in the shower. Ashley had suggested that Allyson take a shower and change into some fresh clothes of hers. Knowing Ashley, she’d have Allyson in really hot pj’s and I’d have to struggle to control myself.

Hey, I’m a guy right?

Allyson had talked non-stop about what had happened, what had happened before the accident and basically her whole life that she could remember. She couldn’t stop herself from sobbing at times and at other times she began to laugh.

I honestly wanted to know so much about her; I wanted to know it all really. Her whole life was mystical to us. Her parents wanted her, were like her and they taught her what it was like to be a supernatural. That it was okay to be like what they were. What we…what we were.

Even when people didn’t want her, she made the best of it and blocked it all out with music. This Allyson girl, well, I felt like I kind of knew her, like she was somehow a part of me.

She kept us up with her constant babbling (cute babbling, we didn’t mind really…we needed somebody new to talk to) until late that night

I listened to the sound of her singing and froze- it was so…familiar. This was the song I’d heard in my dreams…

The boy we buried…he must’ve been Caleb. I sighed. He must’ve been her boyfriend.

John heard my thoughts and chuckled. I told him to shut up and threw a pillow at him.

When Allyson finished her shower I saw that she was in a striped grey and white camisole with a pair of my old sweats on. They were a little big on her and it drove me mad to see her beautiful figure, her golden eyes flickered towards me and I looked away not wanting to risk eye contact.

Subtle I am not.

She walked my way and sat down next to me and she looked extremely weary. Two people you obviously care for dying has that effect on you.

I smiled at her, all the time my eyes trained on her luscious red lips and asked, “Alyson, are you all right? You need anything?”

Allyson nodded and said, “Call me Ally, Allyson gets annoying I feel like I’m at school or something. It’s too formal I guess. I just want one thing in my left to be…I guess, normal.” She looked up at me with those big beautiful golden eyes and my heart just melted right then and there.

I didn’t know why, but I reached out for her hand and she let me take it.

We just sat there for a while, watching random shows on the television until she fell asleep, her head on my lap and her hand still in mine.

I got up slowly, lifted her up into my arms and brought her to my bed. I didn’t my bed anyway; the couch was comfy enough.

I laid her down and put the sheets over her but when I tried to let go of her hand, she wouldn’t let me. She woke up and asked me not to leave her alone, that she needed me to stay. I wasn’t sure she knew who I was but the sense of urgency for me to stay in her voice got to me.

So I stayed in the bed with her- over the sheets of course.
