The basics
Writers and publishers submit texts to Bite-Size Edits for proofreading. The text is then broken up into sentences and served randomly to you. Go ahead and fix errors as you see fit! The author can accept, reject or modify your edits.
Here's how it works:

Once you make a change to the text, the "Suggest changes" button will be enabled.

For each snippet you see, you can act on it in three ways:
- See no mistakes? Click on "No changes"
- If you spot some mistakes, correct any punctuation or typing errors that you see by editing in the box. Click on "Suggest changes" to post your suggested changes to the author. Anytime you make an edit in the textbox, this button will activate.
- Or, click on the "Skip" button if you don't want to edit this particular chunk.
We will show you some preceding text above the current snippet, and some following text below, to give you bit more context.
If you like, you can check "More from the same author" if there's a particular author you like. However, you'll never be able to read their entire text this way because Bite-Size works in a random way!
Stats and extras
As you edit, we keep tabs on how you're doing, and you'll be able to see these stats to the right.

Clicking on "Done for now!" will give you the statistics for the current session and how you've done overall. However, this does not log you out, so you can start editing immediately next time you come back to Bite-Size Edits.
Short-cut keys
The buttons have shortcut keys associated with them, but these differ depending on if you're using MacOSX or Windows. These may not function if you are running another application that already uses these shortcut keys.
| Button | MacOSX | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| No changes | Control + 1 | Alt + 1 |
| Skip | Control + 2 | Alt + 2 |
| Suggest changes | Control + 3 | Alt + 3 |
